Tibetan Heart Yoga

Tibetan Heart Yoga combines the physical postures of yoga asana with specific Buddhist breathing practices and heart/mind practices intended to open us up to the experience of the clear light of loving kindness. Tibetan Heart Yoga aligns the physical body with our energetic being and a compassionate mind.

Infusing the physical asana (postures) of yoga with Buddhist traditions of compassion and dedication to serving others, Tibetan Heart Yoga is an opportunity to dedicate your yoga practice to ending the suffering of others and simultaneously recreate your own body and mind. The practice of Tibetan Heart Yoga will help bring joy and equanimity to your life.

The teachings of Tibetan Heart Yoga are consistent with the understanding of the Yoga Sutras that underpins all of the classes at Waverley Yoga Studio, and the postures are not unlike the ones you may already be familiar with. You will find it a rich and juicy practice!

Our teacher Tsae Lan is a Mahayana Buddhist (the lineage of His Holiness the Dali Lama) and as well as being qualified to teach Tibetan Heart Yoga, has a background that includes Iyengar Yoga, Classical Yoga and Chinese Chi Gong, and she is a trained fitness instructor. She also has a BA(Hons), teaches at Monash University and is completing a PhD.
