Neck and shoulders workshop

The shoulder is one of the largest and most complex joints . Often improperly and over used it is a key area of dysfunction and pain. Along with the neck, the shoulders can suffer, chronically and unduly.
This workshop teaches subtle micro movements and a therapeutic approach, to improve the range of motion, ease the stiffness and pain and get these areas moving with ease again.

Restorative Yoga Workshop for Teachers

Restorative yoga is a much needed practice in our busy lives.
The restorative yoga workshop will be a mixture of theory and doing, where you will learn how to practice and teach this growing area of yoga as a valuable tool in countering and managing stress in different stages of life, and to support wellbeing and healing.
We use props such as bolsters, blankets etc to support the body in the poses.

YIN yoga with Vanessa
Here's what Vanessa says:
A Yin practice is less about the external experience in the final execution of a posture, less about building muscular strength and stability, but is more about the internal experience, a practice that encourages balance and healing of the body systems, emotions and a quieting of the active mind.
Yin has been described as "Indian Hatha Yoga postures with Chinese Taoist Philosophy".
Yin Yoga is a quiet, still and passive practice that uses long held postures to activate meridian points and breath work to encourage Qi/Prana flow.
The experience of a Yin session can be described as an acupuncture session without the needles!

Know Your Body Type workshop with Sarah

Ayurveda is an ancient healing and medical science that categorises people according to their Doshas (body types).
Once you understand your body type a bit better (and most of us are a combination of 2 or 3 types), you can understand how to keep it in balance a bit more easily.
Sarah says 'Knowing your Dosha can give you suggestions about where to live, who to hang out with, food choices, colours, holiday types, jobs and much more. Come on the journey...'
Alignment workshop with Mary

In this workshop we will look at some anatomical differences that restrict our movement. These restrictions influence our postures.
We soon learn that no two people will experience the one posture in the same way and that striving to reach a 'perfect posture' may not be within our means.
Beginning with awareness in Tadasana/Mountain pose, we will explore our alignment in other poses.
Mother and Baby Yoga Teacher Training workshop
This workshop for Yoga teachers and trainees addresses the postpartum body, the development of the baby and how to incorporate this knowledge into teaching safe and fun Mother and Baby yoga classes.
Includes comprehensive course notes and practical training.
Conducted by Sally Dawson who currently teaches Asana and Anatomy for the Diploma of Classical Yoga at the Australian College of Classical Yoga, co-developed the ACCY Postgraduate teacher training course, runs Waverley Yoga Studio and has been teaching Parent and Baby Yoga for 7 years.
